Product Quality Inspection
  • Is the TV of good build quality and free of any visible defects? Yes
  • Notes About Quality N/A
  • Is the TV clearly marked with a standard nameplate? Yes
  • Notes About Nameplate N/A
  • Does the TV's packaging include appropriate information? No
  • Notes About Packaging No product size, gross dimensions or date of manufacture
  • Does the TV come with appropriate documentation? No
  • Notes About Documentation No quality assurance certificate or warranty information
Off-Grid Compatibility
  • Is the TV able to function properly during and after the voltage fluctuation test? No
  • Notes About Voltage Fluctuation Test At -15% of nominal voltage (10.2V) the picture was ok but there was no sound. The sound needed 10.6 volts to work correctly.
  • Does the TV have its own low voltage disconnect (LVD) & reconnect (LVR) circuit or similar automatic shutdown mechanism to protect batteries from unintended drainage? No
  • Notes About LVD and LVR Test As the voltage reduced the sound went off at 10.3 volts and the picture disappeared at 9.8 volts and Standby mode was entered at 4.2 volts. When the voltage was increased, the set would come out of standby and function normally when the voltage rose above 10.6 volts. This was not considered to be a correctly operating LVD/LVR function due to the very low voltage before stby was entered.
  • Does the TV have a timer function which enables automatic shutdown after a set period of time? Yes
  • Is the LVD/LVR/timer function adequately described in the user manual or product packaging? No
  • Does the TV have any power saving features? Auto Standby
